ABOUT
Growing up on the shores of Long Island, NY, Tom was always fascinated with light and shadow and the emotions they convey. From the grey skies of the Nor’ Easter to the brilliant sun rippling off the waters of the Great South Bay, lighting has always had an immediate and lasting effect.

After graduating from UCSB with a degree in Film Studies, Tom went to work in Ireland as a PA on the feature film ‘War of The Buttons’. Halfway through the shoot, a trainee position opened up in the Camera Department and the rest, as they say, is history.

In the mid 90’s, Tom became the in-house DP for design giant Pittard Sullivan. He helped the company earn 4 Emmy nominations over the course of five years. In the early 2000's he helped form a music video production company, which won several MTV Europe awards. This led to commercial work for clients such as Del Taco, Mighty Dog, Nickelodeon, ESPN as well as music videos for Snoop Dogg, Celine Dion and Victoria Justice to name a few.

Tom’s long form experience is made up of several feature films, including 2nd unit on the Oscar nominated “Transamerica” and the IMAX feature “Tornado Alley”. In television, Tom worked both 2nd and 1st units on the current hit show “The Mentalist” and shot a full 13 episode season of “What Goes On” for Teen Nick.

Whether it’s chasing tornado’s with hand held Vista Vision cameras or lining up an intricate vfx composite shot, Tom brings total commitment, creativity and a critical eye to the project at hand.
